A brief photo summary of our trip to the south to visit some Mexican lagunas and ruins last week. More can be found at my album here. Chiapas is located in a magical and ancient place. Next Sunday, I plan to go to some indigenous communities for a photo shoot.

On a trip to Southern Chiapas toward Guatemala. Impressive skies.

Climbing up the ruins, Claudia and Justino. At the lake, Ilana and Galia.

Here’s all of us on top of Chinkultik, an especially beautiful Mayan tomb.

The depth and lime inside the laguna made a soothing turquoise color, I wish I brought my swimming suit.

Forest. Alberto, Claudia and Justino over the interlocked stones.

This was one of my favorite moments… walking among the trees in the forest, looking at ferns and bromeliads growing downwards.

The lake at Cinco Lagos from an impressive bird’s-eye view. You should have seen the cenotes from up here.

How did this photo turn out so well, you ask? Well with those rugged good looks, Alberto, an arquitect in Mexico City, can turn any picture into masterpiece.

Lakeside rafts, and the cabins for camping at the lakeside.
